Sonic Branded Air Hockey, XD Theatre and the Newest Shooting Gallery on the Block – Sega at the EAG

News

Sega Amusements are reporting great news from last week’s EAG show. From the busiest booth at the exhibition the company exhibited products from the world’s leading brands. Sega and Sonic’s "All Star Racing" was the star of the show, with other "must plays" an 8 gun electronic shooting gallery, "Faulty Repair Shop", the XD theatre and "Quad Air", the new 4 player branded air hockey game.

Sega’s Justin Burke commented “the show was a great success on many fronts; it was certainly busier than last year on all three days and throughout the day right up to closing time. The vibe and atmosphere was definitely there this year, it felt like the show had ‘grown up’ a bit since last year and everyone was more comfortable with it. This is certainly great news for next year when things can only get better”.

The stand was dominated by a range of Sonic branded equipment that tied in with the companies iconic mascot’s 20th birthday. The brightly lit Sega & Sonic All Stars Racing certainly shone on the stand with an eight player colour changing cabinet set up on display; “this was the star of the show for us, it had great response and certainly proved a hit with all operators and customers that saw it”.

The other noticeable ‘must play’ game was the new Sonic Quad Air, the new four player Sonic branded air hockey game. “It was probably played for the entire show, people couldn’t leave it alone; the real bonus for operators is that players can buy themselves back in once they are knocked out which is a real plus for cash box!”

For the bigger theme park and visitor attractions Sega exhibited its 6D motion attraction XD Theatre and from Pan Amusements the newest shooting gallery on the block “Faulty Repair Shop” – “the 8 gun gallery looks fantastic and has caused a great reaction, the range and style not to mention quirky target within it are fantastic!”

On the show Burke felt “there was a real air of confidence and positive attitude in the visitors, I think last year people were curious and perhaps trying to take in the other show too out of habit, but last week I heard no talk of this, they were at EAG and for two or three days. This tied in with the all inclusive opening night party what more could visitors and exhibitors want”.

Sega Total Solutions, the spares and customer service division and Sega Prize Europe were clear to see on the booth and Sega Prize Europe had a hit on their hands with one of many of their new products ‘Victoria Cupcakes’, which sold literally like hot cakes!  Trevor Clarke said “We came to show with six completely new licensed ranges which had a tremendous response.  Victoria Cupcakes certainly took us by storm! We have been baking these for some time, have now got the ingredients just right now and the resulting range of six cakes is very tasty indeed!!”
