News

The Attraction Services Company (TASC), a leading engineering and fabrication (design/build) company with 35 years’ experience creating themed environments and special effects, is growing. The company recently expanded to a new and modern 30, 000 square foot, standalone facility in Valencia, Calif., and announced hiring Terrence Miller as senior project manager, and forming a strategic relationship with consultant David Aion of The Aion Company as director of business development.

"The Attraction Services Company has experienced an upsurge in business, and we’re very pleased to have these two expert hands, Terrence Miller and David Aion, join us to respond to that, and to enhance our marketing presence and company identity, " says TASC president Melissa Townsend. "Combined with having moved the entire TASC design/build operation to a well-appointed, larger facility, we can now serve our clients better than ever."

About TASC

The Attraction Services Company is headed by Melissa Townsend and by Ron Griffin, who has been involved in the implementation of flame & water effects for permanent installations since 1990.

Griffin’s first major project as designer, project manager and programmer (for the All Effects Company) was the rebuilding of the Jaws attraction at Universal Studios Florida and became one of the "hottest" attractions (from the guest’s perspective) in the United States. Along with other early mega-flame attractions such as Back Draft, the Mirage Volcano, and numerous stunt shows, the goal of most designs was to build the biggest and most spectacular flame effects based attractions possible.

Griffin was personally involved in many huge and exciting shows such as Universal’s Poseidon’s Fury, Twister, Sindbad, and others. Even in Japan the call for huge fire features brought us the job of recreating Jaws, Backdraft, and WaterWorld in the Osaka location.

In other parts of the world, TASC has worked on massive flame effects for shows such as the Amazing Stunt Show in France, Templo de Fuego in Spain, and Blackpool Pleasure Beach in England. Visit www.AttractionServices.com.
