News

Jim Pattison Jr., president of Ripley Entertainment, has announced the promotion of Leonora Shea to VP of Retail and Scott Line to Senior VP, General Counsel & Franchise Services.

“We’re very pleased to provide expanded responsibility and opportunity to those in our company who work hard and who continually make tremendous contributions to our success, ” notes Pattison. “Leo and Scott exemplify the caliber of our entire team.”

Leo Shea began her career with the company in 1998, when she joined Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, S.C. as Retail Manager of the attraction’s Cargo Hold gift shop. During the last 10 years, she has grown retail sales, corporate-wide, nearly tenfold.

In 2000, Shea opened the second Cargo Hold at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg where it won the Gifts and Decorative Accessories award for new shop design. Since then, she has opened Cargo Hold shops at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museums in St Augustine, Fla. and San Antonio, Texas and The Trading Post Gift Shop and the Trading Post Swim Shop at the Ripley-owned Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls, Canada. Shea, a native of New Orleans and an engineering graduate of Louisiana State University, was named Corporate Retail Director in 2005.

Scott Line joined Ripley Entertainment Inc. in April 2000 as Vice President, Legal and Business Development. Since then, he has been played an integral part in Ripley’s unprecedented growth and diversification, which now includes 66 businesses in 11 countries. Line has been responsible for all legal matters affecting Ripley Entertainment, including the protection of company’s well known and valuable intellectual property.

Line received his law degree cum laude from Stetson College of Law, St. Petersburg, Fla. and his undergraduate degree from Furman University, Greenville, S.C. While at Furman, he was a member of the men’s varsity tennis team and twice received first team all-conference honors.  He and his wife Kaci live in Orlando with their son, Preston and their daughter, Addison.
