The UAE Park in China will open in December this year in Nanning, the capital city of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Dubai Municipality, the civic body that will represent the UAE at Expo 2018 China, participated in designing the 1,700sqm project.
Marwan Al Mohammed, director of general projects department at the Dubai Municipality, said that the park is being designed to reflect the development process seen over time in the UAE.
Visitors will start their journey through the park in the Barjeel area, which reflects the UAE heritage of wind towers.
“A replica of the logo of the upcoming Expo Dubai 2020 is placed in the centre of this area. It is proposed to use virtual reality technology, which enables the visitor to follow the stages of the unique architectural development of the UAE,” he said.
“In order to introduce the visitors to the ancient Bedouin life, a ‘Bedouin Tent’ is located in the park, with necessary heritage and aesthetic elements such as pottery and Falaj, which is connected to a lake, with a traditional wooden bridge to cross over to the other side.”
Following that visitors will move on to an urban area featuring open space with sunken seating. There will also be a “Skyline Fountain” and models of UAE monuments such as Burj Khalifa and Shaikh Zayed Mosque.
The urban area will also feature an outdoor theatre that will screen national events from the UAE, such as the National Day celebrations.
