Visitor Attractions: Have You Got the Chocolate Factor?

News

York is giving the X Factor a chocolate makeover as contestants with dreams of being part of the upcoming CHOCOLATE – York’s Sweet Story attraction prepare for their auditions.

In true X Factor fashion the judging panel is all important and for CHOCOLATE – York’s Sweet Story, comprises the new ‘team chocolate’ headed up by Michael Constantine who has joined the attraction as general manager.  New recruits Beckie Senior, marketing manager, Jenny Tutty, operations manager, and Kirsty Kennedy, corporate and hospitality assistant, will be joining Michael to help decide who has the CHOCOLATE factor.

Michael Constantine said: “It’s inspiring to be involved in such an important new opportunity for the City of York and I’m very happy to be building such a talented team with Beckie, Jenny and Kirsty on board.  We’re looking forward to auditioning our cast and readying our team over the coming weeks.”

The auditions are part of the recruitment campaign for CHOCOLATE – York’s Sweet Story which is currently recruiting for full and part time cast members and commercial assistants.

Jenny Tutty, operations manager, said: “We’re seeking cast members with a real passion for bringing the past to life.  They will be responsible for taking our guests on a delicious and memorable journey through the world of CHOCOLATE, so it’s vital we find consummate storytellers with winning smiles and the confidence to command any audience.  We’re also looking for commercial assistants with a flair for engaging with each and every customer, to work across our admissions, retail and café spaces.”

To find out more about being part of the CHOCOLATE story, potential candidates can visit www.continuum-group.com.  The closing date for applications is 10am on Wednesday 8 February 2012 and auditions and interviews will take place from 14 February 2012.

When CHOCOLATE – York’s Sweet Story opens in King’s Square this spring, visitors will be taken on a journey through the story of chocolate and confectionery in York where they will see chocolate come to life, hear generations of chocolate secrets, explore from bean to bar and taste their way through York’s sweet story.
