ICON International Communications, an independent strategic communications consultancy with offices in Singapore and Sydney, has been appointed the new public relations agency of record for Wildlife Reserves Singapore, the parent company of three of Singapore’s most popular attractions – Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari and Singapore Zoo – as well as the upcoming river-themed park River Safari, slated to open in 2012.
ICON will be responsible for promoting these leisure attractions both locally and regionally, while emphasizing Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s mission of providing world-class exhibits of animals presented in their natural environment for the purpose of conservation, education and recreation.
In the run-up to the arrival of Singapore’s first Giant Pandas from China in the second half of 2011, ICON will also be supporting publicity efforts in raising public awareness of conservation and showcasing the animals’ new home, River Safari, the fourth and latest nature park to be launched by Wildlife Reserves Singapore.
Since opening its Singapore office in May 2005, ICON has forged strong relationships with a wide range of local and multinational clients including Acer, Adidas, Boeing, Carlson Hotels Worldwide and Siemens. Other recent clients for the agency include Applied Materials, APEC CEO Summit, Arup, Bridgestone, Garuda Indonesia, Glaxo SmithKline, Kodak and Lufthansa.
