World Expos: NYSE Euronext welcomes U.S. and China delegation to NYSE Blooloop

Government and corporate partners ring closing bell to send wishes to USA Pavilion and Shanghai World Expo 2010

NYSE Euronext welcomed representatives from the US and Chinese governments, the USA Pavilion leadership team, and corporate sponsors of the USA Pavilion as they rang the NYSE Closing Bell to highlight the USA Pavilion – 2010 Shanghai World Expo.

In honor of this occasion, the following individuals joined Duncan Niederauer, CEO, NYSE Euronext, in ringing the NYSE Closing Bell:

NYSE Euronext is the exclusive sponsor for equities and derivatives exchanges and markets at the USA Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. Opening in Shanghai in May 2010, China’s first-ever world expo is expected to be the largest in world history.

The six-month world exhibition, which is themed “Better City, Better Life, ” runs May 1-Oct. 31, 2010 on a dramatic site straddling the Huangpu River, which bisects the Shanghai metropolis. The expected attendance of 70 million will make this event the largest in human history. This will be the first time China has hosted a World Expo, and nearly all the nations of the world have committed to participate.

At more than 60, 000 square feet, the USA Pavilion will be one of the largest national exhibitions at the Expo. With the theme of “Rising to the Challenge”, the Pavilion will showcase American culture, values, innovation and business, while celebrating the friendship and cooperation between the United States and China.
