Zoos: Longleat 2010 …. The Original and Still the Best!

News

As featured on BBC Animal Park and widely regarded as one of the best loved tourist destinations in the UK, Longleat has a wealth of exciting attractions and events to tantalise your palate for 2010!

From safari park to stately home and railway to safari boats, Longleat offers a real “wow” every step of your journey! Get close to the animals in the Safari Park… see how you measure up to a giraffe, watch out for the zebras crossing, wander amongst the wallabies in Wallaby Wood and be enthralled by the majestic lions, tigers, rhino and more!

But that’s not all! Longleat’s new attraction ‘Animal Adventure’ is enthralling visitors of all ages! As Darren Beasley, Head of Animal Adventure explains “Animal Adventure is allowing us to take this interaction one step further as we actively involve our visitors in keeper-led tasks. Visitors will now be able to assist us in many exciting health and welfare tasks from grooming guinea pigs to weighing and measuring tortoises to monitoring and recording animal behaviours”.

If Longleat House is your preferred attraction, then why not consider a VIP Group Tour? Winning a Silver Award for ‘Tourism Experience of the Year’ 2009, in the South West Tourism Excellence Awards and following the ‘sell out’ success of last year’s winter VIP tours, Longleat House is delighted to offer a variety of behind the scenes tours for the out-of-season months of November and December 2010, February and March 2011.

Head Guide, Ruth Charles says “We had such good fun going in and out of rooms that say ‘private’ that we thought we’d extend the tours to include corridors and cupboards that aren’t normally open to the public”.

Longleat House will also be introducing ‘Longleat Long Ago’ a new educational resource for all young visitors.  Children will be faced with observational challenges on their journey around Longleat House. You may even be lucky enough to bump into Elizabeth I who will be making appearances in Longleat House during 2010.

Specifically for group organisers, Longleat have announced a new ‘Marketing Support Programme’, which is now available on request.  This includes Longleat copy, a CD rom- containing up-to-date images, the Longleat logo plus a short video in order to help excursion operators promote Longleat in their brochures, posters and on websites.  Please contact flo.wallace@longleat.co.uk to request your free pack.
