Universal Studios Hollywood has unveiled the Scooby-Doo and Universal Monsters crossover experience coming to this year's Universal Fan Fest Nights.

Scooby-Doo Meets the Universal Monsters: Mystery on the Backlot is a new immersive "who-done-it mystery" premiering at Fan Fest Nights on 23 April and running on select nights through 16 May.

During the experience, guests will be taken to the park's movie studio backlot via Studio Tour trams and cast as extras in a "fictitious monster movie".

The production is hijacked by a mysterious villain called the Phantom Director, who unleashes Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, the Bride of Frankenstein and Wolf Man.

After this, guests will join forces with Scooby-Doo, Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy in a bid to discover the Phantom Director's identity.

They will get to explore Universal's outdoor film sets at their leisure, including the original filming locations for Universal horror movies Frankenstein (1931) and The Wolf Man (1941).

As they uncover a series of clues, guests will hopefully solve the mystery, identify the villain and restart production.

Universal Fan Fest Nights is an after-hours, separately ticketed event that celebrates the world of fandom with new immersive experiences.

The inaugural event took place last year, offering experiences inspired by sci-fi, fantasy, gaming and anime brands like Star Trek, Back to the Future, Dungeons & Dragons, One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Brands for this year's event include One Piece, Sailor Moon, Harry Potter, Dungeons & Dragons, and Nintendo.

Universal Fan Fest Nights is created by the team behind Halloween Horror Nights and provides the same level of intensity and detail as the iconic Halloween event.
