Jora Vision, a leading design and production company, and Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist, joined forces with Gröna Lund theme park to reveal an innovative new dark ride at IAAPA Expo Europe in London this week.
In 2027, Gröna Lund will open SCORE!, a unique interactive dark ride where visitors don't just experience a traditional ride but dive into an immersive gaming adventure and become the hero of the narrative.
The development process involves close collaboration between Gröna Lund’s creative team, Jora Vision, which is responsible for designing and building the dark ride experience, and trusted specialist partners.
The ride features trackless vehicles guided by advanced radar-based positioning technology developed by Vekoma Rides, marking a first in the amusement park industry.
A unique new experience
The park describes the ride as follows:
"Hidden deep below the amusement park lies a place known only to a few. Within Gröna Lund’s legendary subterranean archive, strange artifacts, forgotten inventions, old amusement park rides, and 140 years of park history memories have piled up over the years.
"Antique carousel pieces are stowed away next to props from iconic concerts and games that never saw the light of day. But the archive is overflowing - and that’s where you come in to play.
"Armed with a laser blaster, you and your team are recruited to journey through the archive’s magical chambers, hitting targets, collecting points, and helping restore order to the growing chaos. The more targets you hit, the higher the score."

SCORE! immerses guests in a fast-paced gaming world combining a thrill ride with an interactive adventure. Using trackless vehicles with radar-based technology by Vekoma Rides, it can spin, change direction, and navigate themed environments, creating dynamic, surprise-filled journeys.
Targets appear unexpectedly, encouraging a race for the highest score. Designed as a shared adventure, each ride offers a fresh chance to challenge others and climb the scoreboard.

The Ride Control System ensures precise vehicle tracking, reliable communication, and operational efficiency, improving guest flow and ride consistency.
As the first to feature Vekoma's DRX and radar-based positioning, SCORE! marks a milestone in dark ride evolution, combining innovation and experience for future immersive experiences.
