Plans are in place to create the world’s fifth largest indoor waterpark in the western suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark – Nordic Water Universe.
‘Nordic Water Universe’ in Høje-Taastup Municipality will occupy 840,000 square metres, reports The Copenhagen Post.
The design for the new attraction features two distinct areas: a holiday and amusement ride area, and a recreational nature park.
Construction is scheduled to begin later this year.
Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel operator, is already on board.
The project will be built over five phases. The first phase is scheduled for completion in 2020. It will include holiday homes, aqua park areas, amusement rides, shops, cafes, restaurants, a hotel and conference facilities.
The entire project is expected to be completed by 2028 and will provide 3000 jobs. Potential revenue is estimated at around 3 billion kroner.
