The Disney Destiny, Disney Cruise Line's newest ship, has touched water for the first time at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

The process, known as "float up", started with filling the building dock with water from the Ems river in order to lift the ship from the floor of the chamber.

Via a Disney blog post, the ship was then guided to another position in the hall, where the team will start testing different systems onboard, including the main engines.
