Legacy Entertainment, a leading theme park and resort design company, has been chosen to design and build an innovative new water park, which will serve as the anchor attraction of an upcoming resort development in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The integrated resort will be home to unique water attractions, a thematic hotel, immersive dining, live entertainment and more/

The forthcoming complex is being planned with a scope and scale aimed to entice visitors from both the local market and neighbouring countries. It will be on the route to the city’s “New Tashkent” District. A formal ceremony was held in the city on 18 July, during which Eric Carnagey, Legacy Entertainment’s chief business development officer and co-founder, signed the deal.

Supercharging tourism

Speaking about the new project, Carnagey said: “World-class entertainment projects like this can be transformational for a community. Once complete, this new resort will supercharge tourism, create hundreds or even thousands of jobs, and enrich the lives of the people of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, as well as Central Asia.”

Legacy Entertainment was chosen for the ground-breaking Water Park after an international search, based on the firm’s portfolio of noteworthy projects, which includes its work with Cirque du Soleil, Six Flags, Lotte, and Haichang, as well as its experience designing integrated resorts for Macau.

Earlier this year, Legacy Entertainment celebrated the opening of the first phase of Batavia PIK, an innovative overwater retail complex in Indonesia. Batavia PIK is the world’s first overwater shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, and was designed and planned by Legacy Entertainment in partnership with Amantara (an ASG subsidiary).

Batavia PIK is already attracting international recognition and was named the ‘Best Retail Development’ at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards 2022. It aims to be a modern melting pot that showcases the beauty of Indonesia for locals and visitors from across the world.
