MSC World Asia is the third in MSC’s World Class series

MSC Cruises‘ newest World Class ship is scheduled to set sail from 11 December 2026, with sales now open for MSC World Asia.

MSC World Asia is the third in MSC’s LNG-powered World Class series, following MSC World Europa and the upcoming MSC World America, which sails from the new MSC Miami cruise terminal to the Caribbean from April 2025.

The ship will provide seven-night sailings throughout the winter 2026/27 season to destinations in the western Mediterranean, including Barcelona, Marseille, Naples, Valletta and Genoa.

Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, said: “MSC World Asia will further enhance our lineup in the region, giving guests even more choice of embarkation ports and itineraries for their winter escape or summer getaways.

“As with each of our new ships, we’ll introduce innovative new concepts, venues and services to deliver the ultimate cruise experience for our guests.”

MSC World Asia will feature seven different districts housing more than 40 bars, lounges and restaurants, as well as entertainment experiences and family-friendly attractions.

These include an outdoor park called the Harbour with a water park and multiple waterslides, the Cliffhanger swing ride, video arcades and a virtual reality (VR) slide.

Attractions and experiences on MSC World Asia

Additionally, the ship will provide wellness experiences including zen pools and an expansive Aurea Spa. It also boasts seven pools and 13 hot tubs.

Next-generation cruises, or floating theme parks, are a major trend in the attractions business. Ben Wilson, MSC Cruises’ head of architecture and concept design, told blooloop: “I think the lines are becoming more blurred when it comes to attractions and entertainment.

“Things don’t just belong in one sector or category, which is good as we are all learning from each other’s experience and expertise.”

MSC Cruises is the world’s third largest cruise line. Its fleet includes 22 modern ships with three new vessels due to be launched in 2025, 2026 and 2027.
