Abyss:Vault Trailer
Abyss: Vault is a 30-minute, free-roam VR adventure for 2-6 players where teamwork isn't optional - it's survival.
Your rebel squad deploys from a submarine. You enter a flooded megastructure where Earth's elites hoarded the biological samples needed to revive a dying planet. But the vault is alive. Its AI treats you as contamination, deploying defences to erase intruders.

Each player wields a different colored light weapon: red, blue, or green. To crack the vault's evolving security puzzles and disable its defences, you must combine your beams: red and blue create magenta to open a door, blue and green make cyan to battle a drone, red and green form yellow against an epic boss. Lone players fail. Coordinated squads survive.
Push deeper. Steal the samples. Rescue Earth's future from the Abyss.

Abyss Vault first wave launch
Abyss: Vault eschews the traditional shooting mechanics of VR LBE games in favour of this unique, light-based mechanic. Abyss: Vault was designed from the ground up to grow the LBE VR market, specifically engineered to bring in new audiences yearning for social, collaborative, and story-rich content.

Using a compact 6x6 floor plan, the game uses clever spatial design to create an experience that feels much larger. Players descend zip lines, cross dangerous chasms, dodge obstacles and use elevators and move platforms to traverse the virtual world. The experience culminates in an epic boss battle with a mechanized crab that towers hundreds of feet above the players. At Hololabs, we aimed to create the VR experience that we had always wanted to play.

As veteran VR reporter Kent Bye reported in his interview with the team at the Augmented World Expo (where the game was a finalist for two awards):
I really, really enjoyed the experience. The world building was exquisite. It's exactly what you want for immersion and engaging gameplay. The best immersive experience that I saw at AWE - engaging, entertaining and transportive.
