AAT ACRYLICS announce the production of a perfectly clear, 120mm thick, 8.4 x 3.15 meter acrylic panel. The large format, PLEXIGLAS acrylic weighs just over 3,800 kilos or 4 US tons.

“The successful polymerization of the longest and widest monolithic PLEXIGLAS® block is an exciting milestone, " says Martin van Dijk, Engineering Manager at AAT Advanced Aquarium Technologies.

"We are redefining the boundaries of cast acrylic PLEXIGLAS® by producing block dimensions that have never been attempted before. This will create some unique possibilities in the market and even larger blocks are soon to come.”

AAT ACRYLICS is a worldwide manufacturer of cast acrylic products sold under the PLEXIGLAS® trademark on the European, Asian, African and Australian continents and under ACRYLITE® trademark in Americas.

Paignton Zoo owner Wild Planet Trust has confirmed that the 85-acre zoo, home to more than 2,000 animals, is on the market alongside 18 acres of adjacent land.
