A Louisville businessman has launched a website to drum up interest for a 200,000 square foot aquarium, reports Louisville Business First.
Billed as Kentucky Journey into the Oceans, Ed Dana insists his proposed facility would create jobs and generate millions in tax revenue.
Dana has set his sights on a 50-acre location at the city-owned Champions Park off River Road.
The budget for the aquarium is estimated at between $60 million to $80 million.
Kentucky Journey into the Oceans would house a range of exhibits including one focusing on the deep oceans.
Other exhibits include one centred on the polar regions, an Asian oceanic exhibit and another showcasing creatures that inhabit African waters.
Dana is also proposing other amenities alongside including an outdoor fun park with rides, tree houses and playground equipment.
The online brochure also mentions a 5D theatre.
According to the article, plans are also afoot for an animatronic dinosaur exhibit.
