MAT collaborates with Bureau Veritas

Collaboration provides an unrivalled level of third-party assurance in the aquarium sector

MAT Filtration Technologies, a manufacturer of high-efficiency water filtration equipment and provider of engineering services, has announced that it is collaborating with Bureau Veritas, a leading provider of testing, inspection and certification services for a range of markets and sectors.

Together, the two firms will improve quality standards and processing, before, during and after production. As MAT Filtration marks its 10th anniversary, this partnership advances the firm’s commitment to providing the highest possible efficiency equipment and services in water filtration technology.

Rigorous testing & quality assurance

MAT Filtration aims to strengthen its position in the aquarium and zoo market by prioritising quality and production excellence. By working with Bureau Veritas, its facilities can use a third-party quality testing service directly in-house. All equipment is inspected to meet customer specifications, in addition to international and local standards.

Bureau Veritas personnel audit the production line daily and collaborate with MAT Filtration’s quality team to maintain exceptional standards at the facility. Their extensive inspection procedure encompasses material selection, documentation, pre-shipping quality tests, production, and final packaging. As a result, this partnership has raised the bar for quality and decreased the possibility of mistakes or anomalies after delivery.

Gokhan Birlikci, MAT Filtration’s general manager, explains: “Since we signed this agreement, our customers have definitely seen an improvement in product quality. This level of third-party assurance is unique in the aquarium industry. We collaborate closely to create exceptional projects that meet and exceed customer expectations.”

The partnership also demonstrates MAT Filtration’s dedication to responsible material selection and active environmental involvement for every client. Inspections are carried out every day to make sure that production materials are not harmful to the environment. This approach benefits the firm’s manufacturers and clients, as well as communities and wildlife.

Erdem Akartepe, chairman of MAT Filtration, says: “We are proud to have Bureau Veritas inspectors with us daily. Since we started MAT, our dream has been to be recognized for the highest quality and most well-developed products. We understand that high-quality equipment contributes to a safer environment as well.”

This strategy became more significant as Pragma Capital Partners (PCP) joined the shareholders’ group, Akartepe adds, aligning with MAT Filtration’s focus on improving quality and sustainability in its standard procedures.

MAT announced its collaboration with PCP earlier this year, marking a major advancement in the firm’s worldwide growth. This partnership allows MAT Filtration to pursue ambitious projects with international impact that are consistent with the firm’s core principles of innovation and sustainability.

High-quality environments for zoos & aquariums

The firm’s vision, say Birlikci and Akartepe, is to ensure client satisfaction and provide a safe, high-quality environment for marine wildlife. It is the only Live Support System manufacturer in the world that provides ongoing third-party testing assurance. With Bureau Veritas as a key partner and PCP as a global investor, MAT Filtration is positioned to achieve new milestones over the next 10 years.

Akartepe concludes: “Bureau Veritas is an excellent partner, and we believe this is the right strategy to meet customer expectations. This partnership allows us to deepen our relationships with customers and enhance our service.”

Earlier this year, MAT Filtration was a showcase sponsor of greenloop 2024, blooloop’s groundbreaking conference focused on sustainability in visitor attractions.
