A new predator experience at South Australia's Monarto Zoo will place visitors in the middle of a lions' den.
The $1.4 million attraction will take visitors through a tunnel under the zoo's10 hectare lion enclosure.They will then emerge in the den itself where they will come face to face with up to 12 African lions.
The experience is believed to be the first of its kind in the country.
The zoo if one of the region's most popular destinations. The new addition hopes to get pulses racing and attract an extra 3000 visitors a year.
Construction will reportedly start in April.
