PGAV Destinations promotes Rosey Masek

PGAV, a global leader in the planning and design of unique destinations, has promoted Rosey Masek to director of animal wellbeing and habitat design.

This appointment addresses the increasing need to protect the health and safety of zoo and aquarium animals as well as their keepers, while providing visitors with an engaging and informative experience.

Dedication to animal welfare

Masek has been an essential part of the PGAV team for almost 16 years. She has a strong commitment to the highest levels of care and a passion for animal welfare. Her advancement to the position of director of animal wellbeing and habitat design demonstrates her skill and dedication to improving animal welfare, creating enriching environments, and supporting the next generation of designers.

She will be responsible for making sure that PGAV designs animal environments that meet the strictest requirements for safety, enrichment, and care. Masek will work directly with clients and other animal experts, and will also assist in training and developing her PGAV colleagues in best practices.

PGAV Destinations understands the value of having a committed and knowledgeable leader to ensure its efforts go above and beyond industry norms, especially as the demand for ethical and responsible animal care grows. With a commitment to education and in-depth knowledge of the difficulties involved in managing the welfare of animals, Masek is an exceptional candidate for the position.

Mike Konzen, PGAV CEO, says: “We are confident that Rosey’s passion for animal welfare and extensive experience make her the perfect fit as Director of Animal Wellbeing and Habitat Design. She’s well-known for her high level of empathy for both animals and humans. This appointment underscores our commitment to ensuring PGAV is at the forefront of animal care standards and helps lead us into the future of habitat design.”

Masek enthuses: “I am beyond excited about the opportunity to continue working with our talented team to advance the welfare of the animals through well-designed, enriching habitats. This is an important subject for me, and I will embrace this responsibility wholeheartedly.”

PGAV recently published Voice of the Visitor 2024 (VOV 2024), the latest edition of its yearly attractions industry study. Voice of the Visitor is the only broad research study for the attractions sector to focus on visitors. The study covers the key trends that will influence the future success of attractions.
