A SeaQuest Interactive Aquarium with more than 1,000 animals is coming to the Southwest Plaza Mall in Littleton, just outside Denver, Colorado.
The 1,800sqm SeaQuest Interactive Aquarium is currently under construction. It will feature around 1,200 animals from 300 different species in a range of exhibits, from tropical forests to arctic expanses and underwater utopias.
There will be educational stations throughout the aquarium that will teach visitors about conservation, climates and more.
The attraction will feature lots of opportunities for interaction with the animals, from feeding and touch pools to fish spas and swimming with stingrays. Grant Carter, general manager of the Littleton location, said that visitors will be able to see species they may never have heard of.
“The kids just light up when they’re able to touch the animals and interact with them,” he added.
This will be the fourth SeaQuest aquarium with locations already in Las Vegas, Utah and Fort Worth, Texas.
“The mall reached out to us,” Elsa Macdonald, national marketing director for SeaQuest, told the Denver Post. All of SeaQuest’s current locations are inside malls. The Littleton location is due to open later this year.
