SimEx-Iwerks, specialists in designing, building and operating special F/X driven cinematic attractions that feature blockbuster content, have announced the creation of two new 4-D Express attractions at Phoenix Zoo and Downtown Aquarium.
Phoenix Zoo
A showcase for both branded and nature-based content, the new 50 seat 4-D Express Theater at Phoenix Zoo has been designed to fit in with the Zoo’s brand and provides additional revenue streams and promotional opportunities.
Commenting on the new theater, Jennifer Flowers, Director, Guest Services and Membership, Phoenix Zoo said, “We are excited to bring this new experience to our guests. We opened during our peak season and the 4-D Theater has been so easy to operate. We are thrilled to offer these high-quality shows to boost our seasonal promotions.
“Another big benefit from the 4-D theater, we are utilizing the 4-D queue to promote Membership sales, food and beverage, retail and to inform guests of upcoming events at the Zoo.”
Currently showing Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs – The 4-D Experience® and Grizzly Bears 4-D Experience®, the theater will also feature seasonal content for Halloween and other holidays.
Downtown Aquarium
The Downtown Aquarium, Denver, has worked with SimEx-Iwerks for almost 10 years, most recently on the upgrade to the new cutting edge, 40 seat, 4-D Express Theater.
Chad Ashley, General Manager, explains, “We wanted to refresh our attraction offering and knew we wanted to continue our relationship with SimEx-Iwerks. This new 4-D Theater Experience will appeal to our family audience and be a strong component in our new Value Ticket.”
Downtown Aquarium’s 4-D Express Theater currently features SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D: The Great Jelly Rescue and Planet Earth: Shallow Seas 4-D Experience®, and will be showing The Polar Express 4-D Experience® as part of their annual Holiday offer.
