Asher Young
Principal Creative Director/Designer
Asher Young Studio
Asher Young is principal creative director/designer at Asher Young Studio, a New York-based creative practice working across immersive theatre, live entertainment, installations and experiential design. His work spans art, music, fashion and themed entertainment, with clients and collaborators including Dior, Microsoft, Virgin Voyages and Blue Man Group.
Young’s projects include Masquerade, an immersive reimagining of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus and conceived by Randy Weiner. Staged in the former Lee’s Art Shop on West 57th Street in New York, the production invites audiences to move through multiple spaces within the story.
His other work includes LAB RAT, a collaboration with A$AP Rocky at Sotheby’s; Dior’s pre-fall 2024 show in New York; the DPR Regime world tour; and Queer Monuments, an installation series launched during London Fashion Week. His projects explore how design, performance and technology can bring audiences into closer contact with a story or idea.
A person who nominated Young said: "Young represents both the craft and the future of immersive experience—technically fluent, conceptually rigorous and genuinely genre-defying—and is a deserving addition to the list."
