The animated IP will have an expanded presence across the Merlin Entertainments-operated property

Acamar Films, the creative studio behind the award-winning pre-school animation series Bing, has announced the opening of its Bing live show and Bing-themed rooms for the 2022 season at Alton Towers, UK.

The new additions were celebrated on 19 March 2022 with a VIP launch event, welcoming celebrities and influencers as guests for an overnight stay at the colourful CBeebies Land Hotel. Those invited also got the chance to experience new entertainment shows and attractions at the Alton Towers park itself.

Daytime fun

The Staffordshire-based theme park is the largest in the UK, with an indoor waterpark and four accommodation offerings, including the CBeebies Land hotel, based on the popular BBC children’s television channel.

The firm’s popular characters took to the Big Fun Show Time stage for the live debut of ‘Bing’s Day Out at CBeebies Land’, where children join the popular characters join Bing and Flop as they prepare to try out the area’s rides as part of a fun-packed day. CBeebies Land also reopened with three refreshed attractions and a redesigned entrance portal.

Nighttime stories

At Cbeebies Hotel, the freshly designed Bing rooms, which immerse guests in the world of Bing and his friends, have welcomed their first families. The main bedroom for grown-ups is themed like the park from Bing, with a grand bandstand feature and meticulously crafted details.

Fans of the show, known as Bingsters, can have a unique sleepover in Bing’s very own bedroom. Decor in the room includes an Owly night light and Hoppity wall decor which replicates the animated series.

“Absolutely delighted”

The opening was accompanied by breakfast at the Hotel’s Windmill Restaurant before attending the grand re-opening of CBeebies Land, complete with its new entrance portal. Families were greeted by some of their favourite CBeebies friends, before a tour of the new attractions and an exciting programme of live entertainment.

Acamar Films’ director of experiential and promotions Kirsty Southgate says: “We are absolutely delighted with the new rooms, they look fantastic with such impressive attention to detail specially designed for toddlers. These are the first themed rooms for Bing, and together with the new live show, create a truly memorable experience. Seeing Bingsters react with such excitement was a real joy.”

The international appeal of Bing can also be found in other parks around the world such as Leolandia in Italy and ZSL London Zoo, where locations have utilised Acamar Films’ licensing programme.
