Netflix is promoting its new film with an eerie exhibition

Netflix has announced a new exhibition themed to Guillermo del Toro’s 2025 adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in London.

Frankenstein: Crafting a Tale Eternal will run from 17 October to 9 November at The Old Selfridges Hotel in London.

The immersive exhibition is opening to coincide with the launch of Frankenstein in cinemas on 17 October and on Netflix from 7 November.

It will celebrate Del Toro’s visionary storytelling and the work of his team, exploring his elaborate filmmaking process and showcasing a collection of props, artwork, costumes, jewellery and rare books.

Del Toro said: “This film concludes a journey for me that started at age seven, when I saw James Whale’s Frankenstein films for the first time.

“Gothic horror became my church, and Boris Karloff my Messiah. It is an honor to be able to invite people to take a closer look at how my incredible crafts team and I have brought Mary Shelley’s world to life on screen.”

Frankenstein: Crafting a Tale Eternal is presented by Netflix in partnership with LFF for Free, the BFI London Film Festival’s programme of free events.

Free tickets to the exhibition will be available to book from 8am tomorrow, 12 September.

Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is an adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Gothic novel about Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a creature using different body parts.

The film stars Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, Lars Mikkelsen, Christian Convery, with Charles Dance and Christoph Waltz.

Elsewhere in the UK, Bath is home to Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein, a tourist attraction dedicated to Mary Shelley and her 1818 novel.
