Mandopop star JJ Lin’s pop-up café Miracle Coffee has opened at Singapore’s ArtScience Museum, and South Korea’s Everland is launching new K-pop-themed attractions.
Ahead of the public opening of Miracle Coffee at noon on 30 September, fans of Lin arrived as early as 5.30am, queuing at the venue for up to six hours, the Straits Times reports.
Lin started Miracle Coffee in late 2017 in Taipei. The company currently has three stores in Taipei and one in Shanghai. The pop-up at the ArtScience Museum is available until 29 December, but it will be followed by the launch of a flagship café in 2023.
Attractions and artists collaborate
Miracle Coffee serves the popular ‘Pour Over Coffee’ beverage as well as ‘Kaya Cloud’, which is created exclusively for Singapore. The drink is flavoured with kaya and comes with shaved gula melaka.
Elsewhere, Everland in South Korea is working with K-pop music label SM Entertainment on new artist-themed attractions, according to Korea JoongAng Daily.
SM Entertainment and Everland are introducing a space dedicated to content related to the SMCU (SM Culture Universe). Attractions will be inspired by artists such as EXO, Red Velvet, NCT and aespa.
Hybe, the South Korean music company behind K-pop stars BTS, has also turned Busan into a theme park for fans ahead of the band’s ‘Yet to Come’ concert in the city on 15 October.
As well as entertainment, events and exclusive merchandise across Busan, Lotte World Adventure will be lit up in BTS’ signature purple as the band’s music plays.
BTS musician and art enthusiast RM (Kim Namjoon) has been nominated for the Blooloop 50 Museum Influencer List 2022, which recognises and celebrates the work and influence of notable individuals within the sector.
