Eric Piner will lead the planning and execution of all attractions and exhibition projects.

Meow Wolf has named former Disney and Universal lead Eric Piner as senior vice president of project management.

Piner will lead the planning and execution of all attractions and exhibition projects for the Santa Fe-based company. Meow Wolf will utilise Piner’s 34 years of experience in design and construction management.

“After my first conversation with Meow Wolf leadership, I was drawn to what I recognized as the right culture combined with exciting and uniquely impactful projects,” said Piner.

“The desire to be in Santa Fe is based on my philosophy that relationships build projects, and there is no better way to do that than being present.”

Previously, Piner worked for Walt Disney World‘s design and engineering division and later for Universal Creative. He oversaw the launch of Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Japan.

After operating his own consulting firm, Piner led a large project team to develop an entire land for Universal’s Epic Universe. He recently relocated from Central Florida to Santa Fe.

“Solid project management is critical to our future growth and has never been fully formalized to this level. Based on Piner’s background alone, we are thrilled to have him as part of the leadership spearheading this effort,” said Meow Wolf CEO Jose Tolosa.

“Eric is a great fit for an organization comprised of individuals who inspire creativity in people’s lives through art and exploration, so that our combined imaginations can transform the world we live in.”

Meow Wolf’s expansion

Meow Wolf’s first immersive art experience in Santa Fe, House of Eternal Return, opened in 2016. It features secret passages, portals to magical worlds, and surreal art exhibits.

In 2019, Meow Wolf launched Kaleidoscape, the world’s first artist-driven ride, at Elitch Gardens in Denver. The company opened its second permanent installation, Omega Mart, at AREA15 in Las Vegas in 2021.

This was followed by its third permanent venue, Convergence Station, in Denver. Meow Wolf is launching two new permanent exhibitions in Texas in 2023 and 2024.
