Building Museums

The Building Museums Symposium 2027 will take place from 17 to 19 March 2027 at the Historic Biltmore Los Angeles, California, bringing together museum professionals and industry experts to explore the planning, design, construction, renovation and expansion of museum facilities.

Organised by the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums (MAAM), the annual symposium has been a leading national event dedicated to museum building projects for more than three decades.

The three-day gathering provides opportunities to exchange knowledge, discover practical solutions and connect with professionals involved in developing and transforming cultural institutions.

What to expect

Building Museums 2027 will focus on the challenges and opportunities associated with museum facilities and capital projects.

The symposium brings together museum directors, architects, engineers, exhibit designers, project managers, facilities professionals and consultants to share experiences and best practices.

Through professional discussions, project case studies and collaborative learning, attendees can gain insights into the processes involved in creating and improving museum spaces.

The event is particularly relevant to institutions considering new construction, renovations, campus expansions or significant capital investments.
