DOF Robotics, an award-winning producer of immersive simulation attractions, robotic systems, games, and CGI content, has announced the launch of the Compact Flying Theater.

This comprehensive reimagining of the flying theatre format makes this attraction category available to venues where previously it could not be accommodated.

With a 6 degrees-of-freedom (6 DOF) motion platform synchronised with a curved or dome screen, the Compact Flying Theater accommodates 4 to 20 guests within a limited footprint.

Bakit Baydaliev, CEO, DOF Robotics, says: "Flying theaters have long been among the most powerful and engaging experiences in the attractions industry. With the Compact Flying Theater, we set out to evolve this proven concept into a more versatile and adaptable format.

"By re-engineering the system from the ground up, we have created a solution that maintains the quality and emotional impact of the experience while offering greater flexibility for a wide range of venues.

"This product represents a natural expansion of the category, and we are proud to bring this innovation to operators worldwide."

Evolution of the flying theatre category

The Compact Flying Theater made its industry debut at Amusement Expo International 2026, which took place in Las Vegas from 18 to 19 March.

For operators and venue owners, this innovation presents strong ticket pricing potential and high repeatability, while being adaptable to the needs of different audiences and brand concepts.

Furthermore, its versatile footprint and modular approach enable seamless integration in a wide range of locations, including shopping malls, FECs, and mixed-use destinations.

For the sector, the launch represents a natural progression of the flying theatre category, enabling broader adoption across the worldwide LBE market.

Premium multi-sensory experience

Drawing on its extensive expertise in motion theatre systems, DOF Robotics has developed a high-quality, scalable solution that delivers a powerful emotional experience while providing the flexibility and efficiency today’s operators require.

This required an extensive development and testing process to rethink every element of the flying experience at a smaller scale.

The resulting system combines precise motion with a full multi-sensory effects package, including scent, wind, and water mist, in a premium immersive flying experience that feels far larger than the attraction's physical dimensions.

Its content platform is fully customisable, with a growing catalogue of flying theatre content, including landscapes, cityscapes, natural wonders, and adventure narratives.

Custom content development is also available for venues that require a unique, location-specific narrative, while an optional, movable configuration enhances flexibility, allowing the attraction to be integrated into existing layouts or relocated to accommodate changing business needs.

Earlier this year, DOF Robotics announced a $20 million investment in NeoCappadocia. This new experiential destination is planned to open in Cappadocia, Turkey, a region known for its rich cultural and natural heritage.
