Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır serves as chairperson of the board of directors at the Turkish Technology Team (T3 Foundation). Kuzucu Hıdır is this year’s winner of the Ecsite Bright Spark Award, an annual recognition presented by Ecsite (the European network of science centres and museums) to honor emerging talent and creative individuals in the science engagement field.
She is also a board member of Teknofest, the largest aviation, aerospace and technology festival in the world, taking place in Türkiye.
One person who nominated Kuzucu Hıdır said she is “redefining what science engagement can be by transforming it from a series of events into a lifelong journey of curiosity, experimentation, and discovery”.
They added: “Through her leadership of Teknofest and the T3 Foundation, she has created opportunities for millions of people to actively participate in science, treating young people not as spectators but as researchers who learn through inquiry, collaboration, and evidence-based thinking.
“Her vision has expanded science engagement far beyond the festival itself, building a nationwide ecosystem that nurtures talent from early childhood through to advanced research.”
