EPIC Entertainment Group, a producer of themed entertainment, live events, and immersive environments, has once again brought holiday magic to the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California.
Now in its fifth year, EPIC invites guests to enjoy A Holiday in Oz, a whimsical event that embodies the wonder, vibrant colours, and imagination of L. Frank Baum’s classic story. This celebration features themed décor, creative design, and EPIC’s signature storytelling to bring the tale to life.
"Designing A Holiday in Oz for a property as iconic as Hotel del Coronado is a creative opportunity we’re incredibly proud of," says Steve Sheldon, managing partner at EPIC Entertainment Group.
“Our partnership with The Del continues to grow each year, and we’re thrilled to once again transform the resort with an experience that feels both unexpected and like home.”
Immersive holiday décor and a festive light show
The Yellow Brick Road Tree Trail has set a new standard for immersive holiday decorations with four custom 12-foot character trees. Designed by EPIC, these trees reimagine Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion, featuring bold colours, detailed textures, and handcrafted details.
There is also a 22-foot Lobby Tree called The Road to Oz, decorated with over 1,500 ornaments, including a bright yellow spiral representing the Yellow Brick Road.
Additional features, including the dramatic Wicked Witch of Oz Tree and the shimmering Glinda of Oz Tree, are spread throughout the resort. Guests have been eagerly exploring every corner, describing each tree as if entering a new chapter of the story.

The enchantment extends outdoors with EPIC’s signature holiday light display. The century-old Norfolk Island Pines on the Founders Lawn, renowned as the world’s first electrically lit outdoor Christmas trees, have once more been transformed into living art.
This year’s Wonder of Oz Lightshow Spectacular introduces a theme, with over 80,000 synchronised lights moving to an Oz-inspired version of traditional holiday music.

“Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do,” says Charity Hill, co-founder of EPIC Entertainment Group.
“At the Hotel del Coronado, we blend tradition and innovation to create experiences that immerse guests in the magic of the season, ensuring memories that last a lifetime.”
EPIC Entertainment Group, co-founded by Hill and Sheldon in 2016, designs immersive experiences for top brands nationwide. Its portfolio includes Crayola, Hersheypark, The Ritz Carlton, and Santa Monica Pier, continually setting standards for holiday installations.
In the summer, EPIC delivered an immersive experience for the grand reopening of Hotel del Coronado. From sunrise to sunset, the company turned the property into a vibrant tribute to the hotel’s historic legacy and contemporary future.
