The International Museum Construction Congress (IMCC) will return in 2026, taking place from 24–28 October in Munich, Germany. The IMCC brings together attendees from around the world to share project updates, best practices and case studies from cultural projects that are either in the planning phase, building underway or recently completed. The IMCC audience is comprised of museum leaders, architects, project managers, project directors, museum leadership, facilities and security administrators, business development directors, finance & procurement directors, collections & exhibition directors, social media directors.
Agenda
IMCC Munich 2026 runs across three days of keynotes, fireside chats, case studies and panel discussions, hosted at venues across Munich, including the Residenz Museum and the Deutsches Museum. The agenda is complemented by pre-congress field trips on 24 October, offering behind-the-scenes access to Munich's cultural institutions, and a pre-congress workshop on the early stages of planning museum building and exhibition projects. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in a number of networking breaks and evening receptions throughout the event.
FRAMES by IMCC
Following the main congress, FRAMES by IMCC will take place on Wednesday 28 October. Capped at 50 participants and co-chaired by Elisabetta Tovo and David Greenbaum of Gensler, FRAMES is a curated architectural and cultural experience exploring how cities shape, and are shaped by, their architecture, institutions and civic spaces. For Munich 2026, FRAMES looks beyond individual buildings to explore the city as a cultural ecosystem. Designed for museum professionals, architects, cultural leaders and curious urban observers, it offers a deeper way to read the city: through architecture, but also through the people, institutions and ideas behind it.
Registration
Attendance will be capped at 250 delegates to ensure a highly engaged and productive networking environment.
