Milestone highlights growth of immersive entertainment sector

Immerse LDN, the UK’s largest immersive entertainment district, has sold more than one million tickets in just over two years of operations.

Per a press release, this milestone underscores Immerse LDN’s status as a leader in delivering immersive experiences to Londoners and more.

Damian Norman, director of immersive entertainment and events at Excel London, said: “Selling one million tickets so quickly highlights the universal appeal of the immersive entertainment sector and the quality of our partners to create such popular attractions.”

Since opening, the waterside venue at Excel London has offered experiences like Jurassic World: The Exhibition (2022) and Disney100: The Exhibition (2023), gaining a reputation for innovative, high-quality shows.

Currently, Immerse LDN offers The Friends Experience: The One in London and The Formula 1 Exhibition.

“Whilst milestones are important, 2025 will represent the full opening of Immerse LDN as we open three more experiences in the coming months,” Norman added.

“We are excited to fully open the destination and look forward to welcoming some groundbreaking new attractions in the near future.”

Two major attractions will debut this spring. The first, Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition, opens in March. This high-tech experience includes a video mapping room, a VR experience, and a hologram presentation.

New immersive experiences

The second show, Elvis Evolution, will make its global debut at Immerse LDN in May. This tribute to Elvis Presley combines state-of-the-art technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to offer a multi-sensory experience.

Immerse LDN provides more than 160,000 square feet of purpose-built venue space, housing immersive experiences and F&B.

In a recent interview with blooloop, Norman said: “The word ‘immersive’ is one of the most overused terms in hospitality right now.

“Not everything that claims to be immersive truly is. There’s a low barrier to entry in this sector, which means that some experiences don’t meet the high standards that audiences expect.”

To address this, Norman and his team set out to establish a “gold standard” for immersive experiences at Immerse LDN.
