The Giant Company, an Irish organisation working in concert with cities, embassies, and leaders across the globe, has collaborated with American Dream Mall in New Jersey to develop the global first Giant Visitor Attraction. Titled ‘The Giant at American Dream’, the attraction is expected to open in January 2025.

American Dream, the second-biggest mall in the US, is noted for its unique blend of entertainment, retail, and food options. The Giant at American Dream will include the tallest moving statue on the planet, with a towering height of 16.5 meters (54 feet / 5 storeys).

“Most amazing selfie on earth”

The Giant is an androgynous humanoid statue with a head and arms that can move into a variety of postures, and a skin made of bespoke LEDs. This design means that the statue can instantly morph into an infinite number of amazing visuals using patented LED and scanning technology. The statue can depict any person, from celebrities to historical figures, or visitors to the site.

Every hour, the Giant will put on a show for the mall’s visitors as it transforms into a musician, artist, actor, sports hero, inventor, scientist, humanitarian, or another famous person. An array of screens, and both visual and auditory effects, complete the spectacular display.

Accompanying the statue is The Giant Exhibition. This futuristic setting offers a themed immersive visitor experience, volumetric scanning pods, and other intriguing features.

Here, a cutting-edge volumetric scanning theatre scans visitors and their image then shows on the enormous Giant statue. This extraordinary portrait is described by the firm as “the most amazing selfie on earth.”

The scanner also creates a holographic avatar, or precise replica of the visitor, which they can view on their smartphone. The visitor can also control their three-dimensional hologram’s journey through a range of virtual reality settings and experiences using their device.

Innovative experience

The Giant will also serve as an excellent platform for brand promotions and art exhibitions, and as a setting for concerts, performances, and events.

Don Ghermezian, CEO of Triple Five Group, owners, and operators of American Dream, comments: “The Giant brilliantly represents American Dream’s commitment to deliver an innovative one-of- a-kind world class experience for all our visitors. It will be a unique and spectacular addition to the center, and we are looking forward to seeing our visitors become Giants.”

Paddy Dunning, CEO of The Giant Attractions Company, adds: “We are excited to build the
world’s first Giant at American Dream. Besides the iconic stature of the attraction, The Giant is devoted to the empowerment and development of human potential. Everyone can strive to improve themselves and their communities, and everyone can aspire to become a Giant – that’s the American Dream!”

The Giant Company recently launched The Giant Experience at Central Plaza in Dublin. The immersive attraction opened on Wednesday 20 September and was on show for four months.
