Of the 10,000 certified B Corps worldwide, just 70 are in the arts and entertainment industry

L-Acoustics, industry leaders in designing and manufacturing sound systems and technology, has been awarded B Corp certification by the non-profit B Lab, joining just 70 companies in the arts and entertainment sector.

B Corp certification requires organisations to be independently verified against B Lab’s standards for governance, transparency and social and environmental performance.

With this certification, the hire companies, integrators and venues that specify L-Acoustics systems can reference an independent review, rather than relying solely on the manufacturer's word.

Increasingly, the live events sector must account for its choices, from the clients it serves to the productions it supports.

L-Acoustics encourages other pro audio manufacturers to join the wider community, which includes more than 10,000 certified B Corporations in over 100 countries, including over 640 in France.

Purpose-driven global community

L-Acoustics has been certified through the Large Enterprise and Multinational pathway, which serves companies with complex, multi-site operations. As such, the certification applies to the entire L-Acoustics Group, spanning 13 sites globally.

Hervé Guillaume, chief executive officer of L-Acoustics Group, says: "We are proud to reach a new milestone in our sustainability journey.

"This certification positions L-Acoustics among the pioneers of the professional audio industry in social, environmental and governance performance, placing the company in the same global community as brands like Patagonia that have long put purpose at the centre of their business.

"It recognises the progress, commitment and daily work of teams across the company, and it is a commitment to a more sustainable future for live entertainment."

The Group focuses on three key priorities: supporting employee wellbeing, development and safety; minimising environmental impact and promoting product longevity and circularity; and using sound to support culture, education, inclusion and connection in the communities in which it operates.

As with all Certified B Corporations, L-Acoustics will be regularly reassessed to demonstrate ongoing progress.

Recently, L-Acoustics' L2 line source was deployed to drive the sound system at Arènes de Grand Paris Sud, Europe's first official esports team home arena.
