Lauren Florisson
Animal Programmes and Conservation Coordinator
European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA)
Lauren Florisson is animal programmes and conservation coordinator at EAZA, and also a support officer for the European Union of Aquarium Curators (EUAC). Previously, she worked for the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) as a programmes officer. There, she supported several committees and working groups, and helped members to meet the BIAZA standards.
In her role at EAZA, Florisson is responsible for her own working group (the EAZA nutrition working group), and works for the animal programmes department as a support officer, coordinating the taxon advisory groups (TAGs) and animal breeding programmes. Florisson supports the four liaisons to the TAGs with keeping records up to date, coordinates the annual conference programme, and keeps the financial overview of the biannual conservation campaign run by EAZA.
“Lauren is a hardworking and dedicated professional within the zoo and aquarium sector,” said one person who nominated her. “She's extremely dedicated to improving industry standards and animal welfare.”
