Meg Williams

Chief Executive Officer

World of WearableArt (WOW)

Meg Williams is chief executive officer of the World of WearableArt (WOW), described as an awe-inspiring collision of the world's leading wearable art competition and New Zealand's most spectacular live experience. Hosted in Wellington in September through October, it features wearable art, music, dance, performance and circus acts.

One person who nominated Williams said she “expands the definition of immersive entertainment beyond the traditional worlds of attractions, XR and immersive theatre. As chief executive of World of WearableArt, she leads an experience that sits at the intersection of art, fashion, live performance, music, aerial choreography and large-scale theatrical spectacle”.

They added: “WOW has become an extraordinary cultural and commercial success. In 2025, the organization passed the milestone of one million tickets sold, while continuing to attract designers and audiences from around the world to Wellington. WOW is New Zealand’s Super Bowl. Under Meg's leadership, the organization has also continued to evolve the ways audiences engage with the work rather than simply preserving a successful annual format.

“I believe immersive entertainment benefits when we recognize leaders coming from outside its usual ecosystem. Meg is demonstrating how a mature cultural event can continue to reinvent itself through experience design and participation. She brings an international, artist-led perspective to the field.”
