MSC Cruises' refurbished Magnifica cruise ship is returning to service with winter sailings in the Mediterranean.

MSC Magnifica has left the Palumbo Malta Shipyard with a new yacht club, two new restaurants, a state-of-the-art spa and gym facilities.

The ship, which has been in service since 2010, has spent the past two months in the shipyard in Malta undergoing one of the largest upgrades in MSC Cruises’ fleet in the last 10 years.

New state-of-the-art facilities include a redesigned Aurea Spa and Technogym Fitness Centre, workout studios, and an expanded outdoor Aurea area.

The full MSC Yacht Club experience with 24-hour butler and concierge service will be available from next summer when MSC Magnifica sails the Northern Europe itineraries departing from Warnemunde, Germany.

Sister ship MSC Poesia will undergo similar enhancements in February before its Alaska debut in May 2026.

Upgrades include the MSC Yacht Club, a sports bar, new restaurants, and spa and gym enhancements.

MSC Magnifica is now sailing in the Mediterranean itineraries before departing on a 132-day world cruise in January.

Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, MSC Cruises is the world’s third largest cruise line. Its fleet offers 23 modern ships providing cruises across five continents.

MSC Cruises' fleet expansion

The company recently ordered two new World Class ships worth €3.5 billion, due to be delivered in 2030 and 2031.

With the new World Class ships – numbers 7 and 8 – MSC Cruises will offer a total of eight World Class vessels.
