Kellen Nixon is the principal of Nixon & Co., a consulting group that is on a mission to provide innovative solutions to the non-profit and K-12 education sector, promoting a stronger sense of community and organizational purpose
Following a long career in STEM education and science engagement, Nixon went on to form Nixon & Co. in 2018. This group provides quality consulting services, guided by proven business techniques and strategies and with a focus on partnership development. The aim to is help museums and other community-based institutions engage the public in a dialogue that promotes long-range, mutually beneficial activities, focusing on content development, community engagement, and fundraising.
Nixon & Co. offers a range of services, including strategic planning, mission/vision setting, focus group discussion facilitation, corporate fundraising, project management, exhibit/program content development, and community partnership development.
Nixon has a BSc in Public Management and Masters in Applied Social Sciences, Public Administration from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University. In his previous role, he served as senior director, STEM education & site director, Discovery Place Education Studio at Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC. He has also worked at the Museum of Science & Industry in Tampa, Florida, as deputy director of development and at Orlando Science Center, firstly as director of educational outreach and then as director of educational development.
Prior to this, Nixon assisted in the long- and short-range planning and development of activities for the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University’s Teachers for a New Era project.
