Lieven Bertels recently joined the Immersive Experience team at global image technology innovator Barco, after over 20 years as a creative and executive director in various media and cultural organizations in Europe, Australia and the US.
Before joining Barco, he was the inaugural director of The Momentary, a new multi-disciplinary arts centre he helped build in NW Arkansas at the invitation of the Walton family (Walmart).
From 2012 to 2016 Lieven stood at the helm of Sydney Festival, Australia’s leading arts festival. From 2004 to 2011 he was the artistic coordinator at the Holland Festival in Amsterdam and from 2001 to 2004 he was the inaugural artistic director of the newly built Concertgebouw arts venue in Bruges, Belgium.
