Culture24, the UK charity that supports cultural institutions' development, has announced a new Lates festival model for London.
The new programme, Otherworld, will launch Friday 21-Saturday 22nd June 2019 combining experiential programming and commercial potential for after-hours events at attractions around the city.
London attractions are encouraged to participate in the programme to expand their younger audiences, receive a proportion of ticket revenue (according to venue size), build partnerships with local organisations and develop capacity for their local Lates programmes. Attractions can read the Venue briefing document here.
Culture24 conducts regular research into the future of museum and gallery Lates events including:
- A Culture of Lates, sponsored by the Arts Council England
- An International Culture of Lates, produced by Nick Stockman and supported by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust
- and Late Like a Local sponsored by Airbnb
They also held the first Culture of Lates conference earlier this summer to highlight the engagement and financial potential of Lates events.
Attractions wishing to be involved with Otherworld can express their interest to Culture24 here.
