Dutch Art Museum to Use Hololens for AR Exhibits

News

The national archaeological museum of the Netherlands, The Dutch National Museum of Antiquities is to use Microsoft Hololens headsets to provide an AR (augmented reality) experience for visitors to its exhibitions.

Based in Leiden on the Netherlands’ west coast,  the museum has limited space and a such only ever has around 20% of its collection on permanent display.  Furthermore many of the items in its collection are too fragile to be on display.  The Hololens will give visitors access to more of the collection (in a digital form) than ever before.
