Firm supplied interactives and AV for new attraction in the Netherlands

Lagotronics Projects, the media-based attractions specialist, provided a comprehensive range of interactive and audiovisual technologies for The Chocolate Factory in Veghel, the Netherlands. This innovative edutainment centre launched on 21 February, transforming a 30-metre-high former factory into a technological journey showcasing chocolate’s magic.

“This project was a fantastic opportunity to bring our interactive gaming expertise into a truly immersive environment,” says Berno Joosten, COO of Lagotronics Projects.

“Seeing the chocolate factory come to life with engaging gameplay elements has been incredibly rewarding for our team, and we’re extremely proud to contribute to this innovative and educational experience, which will hopefully inspire the next generation of creators and innovators in the region!”

Interactive experiences

Highlights include VR drone scooters, which take players through a virtual chocolate factory silo.

Chocolate Factory drone interactive Lagotronics

This interactive game allows visitors to navigate a drone through the chocolate-making process, using a VR headset for complete immersion or screens mounted on the scooters. These scooters replicate motorcycle-like movement, while wind effects and dynamic LED lights from the ceiling amplify the feeling of flying through the air.

Meanwhile, the Operator Room presents an interactive challenge, where visitors take command of the chocolate production process through two rooms outfitted with 12 consoles. Each console enables guests to monitor the production line and address any issues that occur in real-time.

In addition, a dynamic projection-mapped display on the factory silos displays the inner workings, presenting the chocolate production journey in an immersive and engaging way.

The Lagotronics Projects team was responsible for the hardware, technical engineering, software and game development, installation, programming, and show control for these experiences. The company expresses pride in contributing to this innovative and educational venture, which aims to inspire the next generation of creators and innovators.

Last year, the company revealed the latest version of the Gamechanger ride at IAAPA Expo in Orlando. The Gamechanger is a revolutionary dark ride concept that combines a small footprint with a large capacity of 450 to 900 visitors an hour and features a distinctive rotating platform.

Guests are taken through a series of dynamic, interactive media scenes where they participate in video game-inspired tasks that combine friendly rivalry and excitement.
