The Boring Company’s Prufrock-5 tunnel boring machine has arrived at the Morgan’s campus in San Antonio, Texas to begin construction of the Morgan’s Inclusion Tunnel.
Elon Musk's tunnel construction firm has supplied the 900,000-pound machine to build a nearly mile-long tunnel at Morgan's, designed to make it easier for people of all abilities to move around the campus.
The Morgan's campus is home to facilities including the Morgan's Wonderland theme park, a sports centre, a camp, the Morgan's Inclusion Institute, and more.
Morgan’s Hotel, a new accessible accommodation at the campus, is due to open this year.
Per a press release, the Morgan's Inclusion Tunnel will provide a safe and convenient way for guests to travel across the site while avoiding challenging weather conditions.
"The arrival of Prufrock-5 sets the stage for construction of the innovative transportation project and reflects Morgan’s continued commitment to creating Ultra-Accessible, fully-inclusive experiences for people of all abilities," Morgan's said.
Work on the tunnel project is expected to begin after the final approvals. Morgan's will share additional details about the groundbreaking at a later date.
