The Elstree Immersive Experience, a new attraction celebrating more than a century of film and TV history, is set to open in Borehamwood, England next year.
The lease has been signed for the Elstree Immersive Experience, which is located in the middle of Borehamwood High Street, just five minutes from the iconic Elstree Studios.
Adam Morley, managing director of the Elstree Immersive Experience, said signing the lease "is a big step... and we're delighted to have a home at the heart of Borehamwood and at the centre of Hertsmere".
Lease signed for new attraction
The new attraction will offer an ever-changing selection of multi-sensory experiences and immersive installations for visitors of all ages and abilities.
It will also include areas dedicated to local community, charity and school projects.
The technical fit-out of the Elstree Immersive Experience is set to begin soon, with the venue expected to be fully operational in late spring 2027.
"Our focus now is getting the venue ready for opening, creating a place where people of all ages can step inside the stories and the craft that have made Elstree famous for more than a century," Morley said.
Technical fit-out set to start
"We'll be working with the local community, schools and businesses as the venue takes shape, before welcoming everyone through the doors next year."
Elstree Studios has been the home of film productions including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The Shining and Hamnet, as well as popular TV shows such as Big Brother, The Crown and Strictly Come Dancing.
The Elstree Immersive Experience is backed by £2 million from the Community Infrastructure Levy and £1.3m in external investment.
Hertfordshire Futures is working closely with Hertsmere Borough Council to bring the project to life.
