Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks, a new $400 million family resort and entertainment district in Missouri, is installing its first amusement park ride.

The family-friendly tower ride, named The Plunge, will lift riders 100 feet into the air to experience sweeping views of the Lake of the Ozarks, before plunging them back down to the landing zone at thrilling speeds.

Standing at the same height as the Natural Bridge at Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Missouri, The Plunge will be one of the tallest structures in the area, and a centrepiece attraction at Oasis.

"The Plunge’s ride carriage seats 12 and slowly rotates, giving every rider a breathtaking lake view before the unexpected drop," said Todd Schneider, operating partner.

"The ride is also designed with various descent programs, allowing it to deliver thrills while remaining family friendly."

The Plunge will be one of 12 amusement rides planned for Oasis. More rides will be installed throughout the summer, "quickly reshaping the landscape into the new lakeside attraction", said Schneider.

When complete, Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks will operate as a year-round entertainment destination with the theme park, the largest indoor water park in Missouri, multiple restaurants, a nearly 200-foot-tall observation wheel, and a 401-room Marriott hotel.

The amusement park, parking garage and boat slips are scheduled to open in the first phase in spring 2027, followed by the indoor water park and Marriott property.

"Our guests can arrive by boat or car, ride a roller coaster, enjoy a high-quality dining experience, play games, and share thrilling ride experiences at their leisure," said Schneider.

"We are focused on delivering safe, high-quality attractions and experiences that will appeal to every lake visitor."
