New facility is designed for children and located next to the Walltopia Climbing Center in Sofia

Adventure Facility Concepts & Management (AFCM), a management, operations, design and services company for family entertainment centres , has introduced a new climbing centre for children, Climb Academy, in Sofia, Bulgaria. The new facility is under the same roof as the Walltopia Climbing Center, the biggest climbing gym in Eastern Europe.

Designed especially for children, this new facility complements the existing adult climbing centre, allowing children aged between 3 and 11 to enjoy fun physical activity in a safe environment.

Visitors can take advantage of tailored training programs at Climb Academy, run by climbing and gymnastics coaches with several years of experience with kids. These are designed specifically for different ages and abilities, focusing on technique, difficulty, and speed. The training also includes gymnastics exercises in order to enhance children’s physical development and develop skills like strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and body control.

Training sessions bring together relay games, physical challenges and fun competitions.

The venue is bright and colourful, designed to appeal to children. It features climbing walls, a boulder area, gymnastics facilities for kids, a parkour track, a slackline, and a ninja course. There is also a special play area for the youngest guests, featuring an elevated playground that is unharnessed and safe for children from the age of two.

Visitors with autism and other developmental disabilities can take part in ergo therapeutic sessions, where they will be integrated into the gym community and made to feel at home. The trainers for these programmes are both climbing and occupational therapy specialists, who will work with them to improve independence and autonomy.

Young visitors can also celebrate birthdays and other events, enjoying fun, healthy play and competition as part of a community. It is designed to be a space where they can grow together and share a passion for climbing.

Over the last decade, AFCM has created and operated a number of sports and active entertainment industry projects across Australia, Bulgaria, the Middle East and the US.

Last year, AFCM’s parent company Walltopia opened the Adventure Hub at Ocean Flower Island, a comprehensive outdoor installation for The Evergrande Group in China.
