ICE NOW, a leader in ice and snow-themed FECs, has created Frostland an FEC concept to operate in multi-zone positive temperature environments.
Frostland is a new and unique FEC format from ICE NOW that includes ice and snow attractions. It is particularly suited for shopping centres and is designed to offer all the fun of snow without the complications.
With no costly infrastructure, it can be incorporated into an existing space easily. Using ICE NOW’s next-generation powder snow, Frostland provides hours of entertainment for children. The powder snow remains fluffy and playable, even in positive temperatures.
It is available in a range of sizes, starting at just 2,000 square metres. The optimum size is between 3,000 and 5,000 square metres. However, by using more comprehensive hybrid designs, the space can now be as large as 10,000 square metres.
This gives the FEC lots of flexibility and the chance to be used in a variety of existing or newly created spaces. Its flexible design can also be engineered to fit with low ceilings and work around existing columns.
Unique attractions such as the Mountain Slides can be added when using hybrid designs. The Mountain Slides were designed by ICE NOW for Ski Dubai. They were then added to Ski Egypt and Doha Snow Dunes at the Doha Festival City mall in Qatar.
One of the largest shopping centres in the Gulf area, Avenues Mall in Kuwait City, has installed the world’s first Frostland.
The company is led by Founder and CEO Filippo Gervasini who has been active in the industry for over 15 years. ICE NOW brings together a team of designers and architects, as well as an advanced technical and operational experts. Together they have over a decade of experience on the ground, supplying, installing systems and rides, and operating several medium to large indoor snow attractions.
All of ICE NOW’s technology is engineered in Europe, while their team is based in Asia where they already have a strong client base. The company has offices in Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and soon to open an office in China.
