ShowUp, the social platform for the amusement trade founded by location-based entertainment expert Bob Cooney, is hosting a free virtual social event for amusement operators.
ShowUp is pleased to announce that it is hosting a unique social event on Tuesday 17 November, from 7 pm to 11 pm EST. This will be an opportunity for amusement operators to virtually meet friends and make connections ,while having some fun and celebrating the end of a challenging year.
“IAAPA brings the entire global amusement industry to Orlando each November”, says Cooney. “There are more receptions, parties, dinners, awards events, drinking, eating, and playing than you can keep track of. It’s exhausting and exhilarating. And now we don’t have to miss it.”
Virtual Orlando Social Crawl
This event is open to owners, operators and employees from within the industry, from FEC and trampoline parks to bowling centres, karting centres, VR arcades, cinemas, skating rinks and more.
Just like a physical industry event, the Virtual Orlando Social Crawl will have a reception hall with games and hosted gatherings, as well as a networking area, and spaces where attendees can create events, hang out and talks. Attendees will just need a webcam and mic to join in with the video-based event.
Here’s a sample of some of the events taking place during the social crawl:
- Face Place Marvel Adventure Lab photo booth
- Arcade game trivia hosted by LAI Games
- Willy Crash mobile arcade from Bay-Tek
- Esports Bar hosted by VRstudios
- Most Creative Cocktail Contest at Embed’s Happiest Happy Hour
- Virtual Game Show from Fun Lab
There will also be private events, for example, a virtual wine tasting hosted by Halleck Vineyards, as well as client parties with awards and prizes. Registration is now open here.
Earlier this year, Cooney spoke to Blooloop about the coronavirus crisis and what it means for the future of location-based VR.
