SPREE Interactive MAPIC Award 2022

The accolade is one of many obtained in another successful year of business

SPREE Interactive, a leading provider of active free-roam VR experiences, has announced a new award win at a major European conference, following a record year of performance.

The company won the People’s Choice Award at the MAPIC Awards 2022, earning industry-wide recognition against competition from the retail, leisure, and food industries.

SPREE Interactive’s CEO, Jonathan Nowak Delgado, accepted the accolade after competing against 60 other firms, adding to a long record of award victories and nominations this year.

SPREE’s submission was recognised by an industry panel of experts for providing family-friendly multiplayer VR experiences to venues of all sizes and tapping into the newest generation of customers, dubbed “Generation SPREE“.

Non-violent family-friendly content from SPREE Interactive is ideal for the often underserved consumer base of 6 to 12-year-olds, allowing venues to offer high-throughput multiplayer VR experiences that attract these new repeat visitors and enhance profitability.

Industry award wins

The momentum gained at the beginning of the year has continued in the following 12 months, with a slew of award nominations and wins. These include a Bobble Award from VR expert Bob Cooney, and beating more than 280 nominees to win “Best in Location-Based Entertainment” at the Augmented World Expo Auggie Awards 2022. Most recently, SPREE scooped 2nd Place in the Immersive Attraction category for the blooloop Innovation Awards.

“Our success is due to our focus on offering active, social, and fun VR experiences to markets that are typically underserved,” says SPREE’s co-founder and managing director, Jonathan Nowak. “We aim to transform any empty space into a fully interactive VR experience zone, attracting young and old, helping families to share experiences together.”

SPREE has more than doubled its revenue for the third year in a row while maintaining a positive EBITDA. SPREE expects to complete its current fundraising round in the first quarter of 2023, with the goal of expanding its global market penetration and revenue streams.
